Thoughts that come up when you start something new:
“Why didn't I do this earlier??”
“What if this goes soooo bad??”
“What if this goes even better than expected??”
I experienced all of these thoughts when I mapped out my new Pinterest Business Page this weekend.
I love Pinterest. I've used it for wedding planning, interior design inspo, annual vision boards, and web design ideas.
But I've never used it for business before.
I've watched other entrepreneurs, personal brands, and creators embrace this wicked-cool search engine in their marketing strategies.
And always thought “One day I'll do that”.
So this weekend I just started.
Using my YEARS of watching others leverage the platform, and some handy how-to blog posts, I mapped out a plan and just took that first step.
I bet you have something on your mind that you've been meaning to start.
Maybe it's a new service in your business, beginning a new hobby, starting a blog, or kicking off that new routine to improve your mornings.
It's worth it to just start.
Here's how I'm starting out my new Pinterest strategy:
Created a Pinterest business profile
Optimized my profile using this simple strategy
Created 8 boards with keywords for my business
Wrote keyword-rich descriptions for each board
This is the big one: Make Pinterest a part of my routines
Consistency is such a big part of starting something new so I added ‘Pin on Pinterest’ one of the points on my morning routine.
My goal is to pin 1-2 times per day M-F just using content I create on Canva that points back to my website. That's it!
Takes me about 20 minutes in the morning.
Over time, I hope this Pinterest consistency will lead to more traffic to my website, more folks checking out my email list, and more value shared with people who are looking for it!
Sometimes starting can stir up a lot of emotions or thoughts, but it's all about taking steps in the direction of where you want to go.
Here's to starting that thing you've been thinking about!
Oh and follow my Pinterest journey here hehe.
🤠 Things I Thought Were Cool
Say hellOOOO to the latest website launch from Belle White Creative! The new + improved HelloCMO website is here 🎉
Working with Liane is always such a treat and this one-page website was no exception.
We refreshed the site design/look, created a clear flow of information, and emphasized the RESULTS HelloCMO gets their clients.
I also wrote a whole case study on how this project came together that you can read here.
I'm currently booking new website projects for October + November. Reach out for website copy, design, brand strategy, or email marketing!
📚 Reading This Week
I crushed Artemis by Andy Weir this week and wowowowow it was such a fun, fast-paced read.
It's a mystery/thriller based on THE MOON with a snarky, witty main character and science-heavy descriptions that Andy Weir's books are known for.
This book got 4 stars from me. I've also read Project Hail Mary and The Martian by this author and I've enjoyed them all!
🌿 What We're Working On
Honestly this week is feeling really packed.
Some personal projects are taking up a lot of extra time, I have another wonderful client website launching (yay!), and I've got a list a mile long for work items.
So this week I'm working on PRIORITIZING.
It seems small but when weeks get a bit cramped with activities I like to sit down and do two things.
Brain dump every single thing swirling in my head
Write down on PAPER the top priorities for the week
I actually like to brain dump into my Notion (faster to type my lil heart out that way) but the priorities list is going on a pad of paper to really separate it from the huge list of things in my calendar/inbox.
This is my little hack for feeling more at peace through extra packed weeks. Maybe something to try if you're going through the same.
Thank you for being here and chat next Wednesday!
